What stays on your phone
Your name, your signature, which cases you have entered, the findings you gave and your
holder’s card are written to your device and nowhere else. They are never sent to me or
to anyone. Delete the app and they are gone, including from my reach, because they were
never within it.
What leaves your phone, and only then
Ordering a print is the one moment anything is transmitted. To make and post it, the app
sends the delivery name and address you typed, your email address, and which plate and
size you chose. Nothing else is sent, and nothing is sent at all if you never order a print.
How long it is kept
An order record, your address, email, plate and order number, is held for one year so
that a receipt can be found and a problem put right, then deleted automatically. Ask
sooner and I will delete it sooner.
Notices at midnight
If you ask to be told when a case is issued, the reminder is scheduled by iOS on the
phone itself. No server sends it and nobody, including me, knows whether you opened it.
Children
Obolus is rated 12+ and is not directed at children. It collects nothing from anyone
knowingly, of any age, beyond a delivery address freely given for a print.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you may ask for a copy of what is held about you,
ask for it corrected, or ask for it deleted. Write to the address below and it will be
done. There is very little to send, which is the point.
